In 2021, Alton Towers Resort is hosting a season of celebrations, with a range of events taking place throughout the year. As part of this fantastical line-up of events for the 2021 season, Alton Towers Resort introduced an all new event, Mardi Gras. This Carnival inspired takeover will dazzle you with an explosion of colours, sounds, high energy entertainment and so much more! Not forgetting that you will have the chance to ride the thrilliant world-class rollercoasters and fantabulous family faves as the sun goes down as well as try some utterly delicious food from around the world. This event will start from 22nd May and run through to 20th June 2021.
Every day the Resort will be transformed into the biggest street party ever with music, street performers and colour, creating a fantabulous feel-good atmosphere!
Each themed area of the park will be represented by its very own flamboyantly dressed ‘Krewe’ with its own static parade float! Throughout the day, each Krewe will be ‘takin it to the streets’ for some high-energy live entertainment filling the streets with all the colours and energy that Mardi Gras has to offer!
Guests will be able to enjoy Mardi Gras atmosphere and entertainment within the price of a theme park ticket.
Ready to take a full-on flavours ride? Then Mardi Gras is the right place to be! Prepare to choose from delicious Greek or Chinese street food, mouth-watering stone-baked pizzas or what a about a classic like Yorkshire pudding but in a wrap! And for those with a sweet tooth don’t miss out on our very own take on a Mardi Gras classic like the King Cake. All of these and more await on the day, don’t miss out!
Each morning, a carnival King and Queen will be chosen from amongst the guests and crowned during a lavish masquerade ceremony on Towers Street. Once anointed, the King and Queen will be treated like VIPs for the entire day!

Whether they’ve been local superheroes during the last year or Alton Towers superfans, we want to hear from you!
