Alton Towers Resort Reveals Brand-New Experiences For The 2024 Season

Alton Towers Resort is gearing up for an extraordinary 2024, promising exciting adventures for thrillseekers and families alike. From extended opening hours so guests can enjoy head-spinning, hair-raising rides and attractions in darkness, to brand-new VIP packages for the ultimate, exclusive day out, and the unique opportunity to walk to the top of the UK’s most iconic rollercoasters, taking in stunning 360-degree views of the Resort.

In addition, overnight guests can enjoy an unforgettable dining experience with a one-of-a-kind visit from the Resort’s favourite characters, the hugely popular dark ride, Hex – The Legend of the Towers, is set to return and will once again captivate guests with its enchanting story and spellbinding journey, plus the UK’s biggest theme park is preparing to host a series of thrilliant events this autumn including the family-friendly Oktoberfest, the award-winning spooktacular Scarefest with brand-new spooks and scares, the fantabulous Fireworks Spectacular and enchanting Christmas.

The Resort will also be marking 10 years of CBeebies Land with brand-new and exciting additions for the 2024 season, which will be revealed in the coming weeks.

As the theme park prepares to re-open from Saturday 16th March, Alton Towers Resort will roll-out its fun-packed season of extraordinary adventures. In an exciting video released by the theme park today, the line-up has been revealed and looks set to ensure 2024 is a year guests will never forget!

There is so much to look forward to in the 2024 season, including some all new experiences:

Alton After Dark

To celebrate the start of an exciting new season, Alton Towers Resort will be extending its opening hours until 8pm on Saturday 16th, 23rd and 30th March. Guests can enjoy an after-hours adventure and ride world-class rollercoasters in the dark including Wicker Man, The Smiler and Oblivion.

VIP experiences

Indulge in the ultimate VIP experience with a brand-new exclusive VIP day out. Choose from a variety of different packages, which are designed to offer guests a truly unforgettable experience. VIP packages include theme park entry, express car parking, fastracks, exclusive merchandise and so much more.

Track walks

Thrillseekers can unleash their inner adventurer and conquer two of the theme park’s iconic world-class rollercoasters. Guests can choose to walk to the top of Oblivion’s 180-foot drop, taking in 360-degrees of the stunning surrounding areas. Alternatively, take on the Wicker Man from a whole new perspective and join the chosen few on an unforgettable journey to the Beornen’s secret world.

The Return of Hex – The Legend of the Towers

The hugely popular, walkthrough dark ride will return for the new season and will once again captivate guests with its enchanting story and spellbinding journey to unearth the curse of the Chained Oak.

Oktoberfest (7th – 29th September)

Back by popular demand, the family-friendly event, Oktoberfest will return to the Resort as its transformed into a Bavarian-themed destination, complete with Lederhosen-clad hosts, lots of oomptastic live entertainment, delicious German themed food and drink, plus the chance to ride world-class rollercoasters and family fave attractions.

Scarefest (11th October – 3rd November)

The season for spooktacular fun, spinetingling scares and rides in the dark is back as the award-winning Scarefest returns. The home of Halloween will host brand-new spooks and scares, with more live entertainment across the Resort, plus Monster Ball will return for those brave youngsters. Open until 9pm each day, daring guests can face head-spinning, hair-raising rides and attractions in darkness.

Fireworks (8th – 10th November)

The UK’s most fantabulous fireworks spectaculars is set to return with a bang. With brand-new special effects, the dazzling display will light up the sky to music and live action storytelling. Don’t miss out on this final opportunity to ride world-class rollercoasters in the dark before the season ends.

Christmas (selected dates from 22nd November – 31st December)

Make magical memories this Christmas as Alton Towers Resort is transformed into the ultimate Christmassy escape with festive celebrations and seasonal sensations.

Meet your favourite characters

For overnight stays during weekends and school holidays in the Alton Towers Hotel and Splash Landings Hotel, guests can meet some of the Resort’s favourite characters, including during breakfast which is new for 2024.

Meet Alton Bear

The latest addition to the Alton Towers family will bring joy and laughter to visitors throughout the theme park, with surprise appearances and interactive moments, Alton Bear is set to become a much-loved character for all guests. Plus, enjoy additional street theatre which is set to transform several areas across the theme park, including the pirates of Mutiny Bay.

10 Years of the UK’s Only CBeebies Land

Alton Towers Resort will also be celebrating 10 years of the UK’s only CBeebies Land, and to mark this significant milestone, the Resort is preparing to unveil brand-new and exciting additions for the 2024 season, which will be revealed in the coming weeks. CBeebies Land opened in 2014 and is the perfect place for children to learn, play and inspire their imaginations, as well as meet some of their favourite CBeebies friends.
